A Gentle New Year: Slowing Down, Colouring The World

A Gentle New Year: Slowing Down, Colouring The World

A Gentle New Year

The New Year often arrives with noise. Big declarations. Fast promises. Pressure to do more, be more, achieve more.

This year, I am choosing something different.

I am choosing health. Presence. Colour. Joy.

I am choosing to slow down and trust that going gently can still be powerful.

Letting Go of the Rush

For me, this New Year is not about pushing harder. It is about listening more closely. Resting when my body asks for it. Letting creativity unfold at its own pace.

I am giving myself permission to relax more and to be okay with going slow. To believe that a calm, nourished artist creates work that carries deeper meaning and warmth.

Preparing My Art to Meet You

One of my biggest focuses this year is preparing all of my original artworks to become prints.

This matters to me because it opens the door for my art to live beyond my studio walls. It means more of you can bring these pieces into your homes, your workplaces, your everyday lives. More colour. More feeling. More reminders of hope and possibility.

I want my work to add light to your world. To lift a room. To gently shift a mood. To make you pause and feel something good.

My Intentions for 2026

Rather than resolutions, I see these as intentions I want to live by.

1. To inspire and make people smile.
If my art or words can brighten your day, even briefly, then I am exactly where I need to be.

2. To focus on prints and products filled with colour, inspiring words, and meaningful quotes.
Art has the power to speak when we cannot find the words ourselves. I want my pieces to encourage, comfort, and energise.

3. To share this work around the world.
I want to spread hope, joy, gratitude, and smiles far beyond my local community and into homes across the globe.

4. To be present and spend significantly less time on my phone.
More eye contact. More real conversations. More moments fully lived.

5. To intentionally schedule fun with family and friends.
Connection matters. Laughter matters. Shared experiences matter.

6. To honour my health every day.
Eating well. Drinking water. Cold showers. Sunshine. Walks. Gym sessions. Stretching. Deep rest and good sleep. Small choices that add up to a stronger, calmer, more grounded life.

An Invitation for the Year Ahead

As this year unfolds, I invite you to slow down with me.

To notice colour. To choose presence. To surround yourself with things that make you feel alive, hopeful, and inspired.

Thank you for being here and for allowing my art to become part of your world. I cannot wait to share what this year brings.

Here is to a New Year filled with gentleness, growth, and colour.
