Inspiration is Everywhere

It’s school holidays, and with my 5- and 7-year-olds by my side, we’re embracing the spirit of adventure. Today, we ventured to see a movie about bugs and then explored an interactive ant installation at the museum. The colours there were magical—soft pastels and glowing hues that felt both calming and energizing. My kids ran freely, their laughter echoing as the vibrant colours seemed to chase them, a playful dance of light and energy.
I found inspiration in the smallest details: the delicate wings of a butterfly viewed up close, the way tree roots interweave beneath the earth, the interactions of people in a mall—some drawn to stores, others not. I watched the art in how food is presented, the subtle design in how a store is arranged, and the way everyday spaces come to life.
At the park, we played soccer under the sun, and I noticed the beautiful shadows it cast, shaping the world in unexpected ways. Inspiration is everywhere, in every moment, if you’re open to seeing it. It’s in the quiet moments as much as the loud, vibrant ones.
There’s inspiration in music, too. As I build this website, I reflect on songs that represent who I am—my art, my journey. I’m an explorer, a wanderer at heart. I love to travel and see the world, but I also find joy in the mini-adventures close to home—in the city, down the street, or even within the walls of our home. Songs like *“Life is a Highway”* and *“I’m Like a Bird”* capture that sense of adventure, a reminder to embrace the journey and take life on with curiosity.
We are all explorers—not just of the world, but of our own lives and the art we create. Our collections—whether of memories, experiences, or objects—are a way of holding onto those adventures. We collect to remember, to inspire new adventures, and to open doors to experiences we haven’t yet lived. I collect photos, art, and moments. What about you? What do you collect? And what’s your next adventure?
